Bhubaneswar: A celebrity bhajan ceremony is being organised this year at the historic Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar for the grand Jagar Yatra on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Sunday.
The star-studded bhajan ceremony is expected to draw devotees and performers from across the country to honour Lord Lingaraj. Singer Nitin Mukhesh is among the seven celebrity performers at the devotional event tomorrow.
Temple authorities and local organisers said arrangements a
re being made to accommodate the large influx of devotees expected during the festival. The bhajan ceremony is set to be one of the highlights of the Jagar Yatra, with renowned singers and devotional groups scheduled to participate.
Officials said the event will not only showcase Odisha’s rich spiritual traditions but also bring together cultural expressions from different regions of India.
The inclusion of a national-level bhajan programme is aimed at elevating the scale of the celebration and reinforcing Bhubaneswar’s reputation as a hub of religious tourism.
Security and crowd management measures are being put in place, with police and volunteers coordinating to ensure smooth conduct of the yatra. The temple premises and surrounding areas are being decorated, while special facilities are being arranged for devotees to witness the rituals and performances.
