Cuttack: The Orissa High Court on Monday directed the state government to submit an affidavit mentioning its decision on the amount of waiver in private school fees.
The court will again take up the matter for hearing on December 2.
On November 10, the state government had requested the High Court to take a call on the waiver of private school fees.
Earlier, the Odisha Abhibhabak Mahasangh and others had moved the High Court seeking exemption of fees by private schools in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a related development, the All Odisha Private School Association on Sunday requested guardians to deposit tuition fees of their wards. In a release, the Association said though schools are closed due to the pandemic, the teachers are imparting online education to the students without getting their salaries.
