Bhubaneswar: With Assembly and Lok Sabha elections round the corner, the State Cabinet and Council of Ministers are expected to take some important decisions in the meetings to be held at the State Secretariat here on Saturday evening.
While the State Cabinet meeting will begin at 5.30 pm, that of the Council of Ministers will start at 6 pm. Both the meetings will be presided over by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Though there has been no clear indication on the proposals the State Cabinet will take up for discussion, reliable sources said the state government is most likely to make important announcements on agriculture and irrigation.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers will approve the vote on account for 2019-20 fiscal, which will be placed by the Finance minister Sashi Bhusan Behera during the budget session on February 7.
Taking note of the ensuing elections, the state government is expected to allocate Rs 48,000 crore in the interim budget, the sources added.
