Bhubaneswar: Skill development and technical education minister Usha Devi on Friday said 21 new ITIs will be established in the state to produce skilled workers.
Addressing mediapersons on Friday, the minister said, “We are in the process of setting up ITIs at Kantanbaji, Bansapal, Bhandaripokhari, Karanjia, Athamallik, Kotagada, Damanjodi, Kutra, Koida, Lanjigarh, Krushnaprasad, Bhanjanagar, Nandapur, Biramaharajpur, Rajkanika, Badamba, Jagatsinghpur, Kaptipada, Parjang and Balugaon with an additional sanctioned student strength of 8, 000 in the next two years.”
Academic audit of the ITIs would help improve quality of education, discipline and punctuality of staff and students, she said, adding, online admission has been introduced from this year with mobilization of students from high school level with an emphasis on tribal children.
