Bhubaneswar: The state-level Independence Day Parade in Bhubaneswar will now be held at the Exhibition Ground instead of Mahatma Gandhi Marg.
Informing this to the media here on Tuesday, Twin City Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that the Territorial Army, Telangana Police, Central Armed Police and Odisha Special Armed Police will participate in the state-level parade.
Stating that the new venue has the capacity to accommodate around 20,000 spectators, he said elaborate security arrangements will be made for smooth movement of traffic to the parade venue.
Notably, Director General of Police (DGP) RP Sharma had visited Kalinga Stadium, Janata Maidan and Exhibition Ground on August 3 to select an alternative venue for the I-Day Parade.
