Steep Rise In COVID-19 Positive Cases In Sambalpur Municipal Corporation

Sambalpur: The areas under Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) have witnessed a sharp rise in COVID-19 positive cases in the last one and a half months.

Out of the total 1677 confirmed cases reported in the district till August 20, as many as 1053 cases were detected in SMC since August 1.

The confirmed active cases in the district, which were only 5 on June 22, picked up the momentum from June 30 with the highest 168 cases reported on August 10.

Similarly, out of 77 new cases reported in the district in the last 24 hours, 66 are from the SMC.

With 8 deaths and 1024 recoveries, the district has 645 active cases at present.
