Cuttack: The Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Crime Branch on Sunday busted a cargo theft racket operated by a criminal in the city.
Acting on reliable information, an STF tram conducted a raid at Gopalpur under Chowdwar police limits on the stock yard of a cargo theft criminal Ajay Pradhan alias Bhuan.
During raid, the team seized 37 ton og stolen hard coke, 3 ton of charge chrome, two trucks, one JCB, two motorcycles and other incriminating articles, the STF said in a release.
The STF apprehended four persons from the spot in this connection. As they could not produce any valid document in support of transportation/storage of the stolen cargo, they were arrested.
A case has been registered in this connection at Choudwar police station and further investigation is on.
