Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch on Wednesday seized leopard skin and arrested one person from an area near Siptiguda village under Baliguda Wildlife Range in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of STF personnel and Baliguda Forest officials raided the village and nabbed one Bidyadhar Nayak of Hatapada Sahi under Baliguda block of the district.
The raiding team seized a leopard skin and other incriminating materials from Nayak’s possession. He was detained and handed over to forest officials.
During the last one year, a special drive against wildlife criminals/poachers have been launched, STF has seized 16 leopard skins, nine elephant tusks, two deer skin, four live pangolins and 15 kg pangolin scales. A total of 33 wildlife criminals have also been arrested.
