Bhubaneswar: Four persons, including a minor boy, were critically injured when a speeding minitruck carrying stones overturned near Mendhasala Chhak on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
According to sources, the minitruck carrying stones from Khurda, was on way to Chandaka when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle skidded off the road and overturned after hitting a roadside hotel and four cabins.
Following information, the Chandaka police rushed to the spot and brought out the driver and helper from the truck. Police later admitted the driver, helper and two persons including a minor boy to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Mendhasala.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that the minitruck was illegally carrying the stones from a quarry near Khurda.
Meanwhile, police have examined the vehicle documents and identified its owner for interrogation to ascertain the place from where the stones were being carried.
