Bhubaneswar: Puri-Rourkela Vande Bharat Express was attacked by some miscreants near Kalunga railway station in Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Wednesday.
Windowpanes of two coaches of the Vande Bharat Express were damaged in the stone pelting incident in which three passengers also reportedly sustained minor injuries.
On being informed, senior officials of Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) reached the spot and launched a probe. “Our officials are probing the incident. They are trying to identify the miscreants involved in the incident and their motives. No one was injured in the stone pelting incident,” said the Railways.
In November 2023, unidentified miscreants had pelted stones on Vande Bharat Express en route to Bhubaneswar from Rourkela between Meramandali and Budhapank in Dhenkanal-Angul Railway Section, damaging the windowpane of an executive class coach.
