Cannes: An unidentified woman crashed the Cannes red carpet, disrobing to show her body painted in the colours of the Ukrainian flag with the words “Stop raping us” in a mark of protest against Russian forces. The incident briefly disrupted the premiere of ‘Three Thousand Years of Longing’, which was attended by Idris Elba and Tinda Swilton.
Security guards rushed in and took her away after covering her in coats.
In the opening ceremony of Cannes, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the film fraternity to support the country and keep them in their prayers.
Cannes 2022 has scheduled a special screening of ‘Mariupolis 2’, an account of Russia’s attack on Ukraine.
