Bhubaneswar: A pack of stray dogs foiled a dacoity attempt in Housing Board Colony in Baramuda, under Khandagiri police limits in Bhubaneswar, late at night on August 31.
According to reports, two bike-borne dacoits had entered the Housing Board Colony to commit dacoity when they were intercepted by a pack of stray dogs. As the duo tried to escape, the dogs chased and attacked them. The miscreants managed to flee, but lost control of a gun which they dropped on the road.
The incident came to light the next morning when some locals found blood stains on the road and informed police.
Cops rushed to the spot and seized a toy gun. They examined CCTV footage to get an idea of the incident.
“We had never come across such an incident in our area before. As we now realize that these dogs are the true sentinels, we have decided to feed them regularly,” said the locals.
