Strengthen Police Network, Maintain Law And Order, CM Tells Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday urged the Odisha Police to make sincere efforts in strengthening its network across the state and work relentlessly to maintain law and order.

Gracing the concluding session of the 60thSenior Police Officers’ Conference at the Police Bhawan in the capital city here, Patnaik called up the police officers to bring down the crime rate in the state.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister released a book “Crime in Odisha” published for the first time by the Odisha Police to bring in transparency in reporting crime statistics. The book presents district-wise crime statistics.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated a new mobile App ‘Sahayata” launched by the Odisha Police under the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networks and Systems (CCTNS) to provide better and faster services to the citizens. This App will enable citizens to request for different police services, complaints and download copy of FIR as well as to track the status of different services.

For the first time, officers were rewarded with the trophies for their performances on the implementation of CCTNS and efforts on anti-narcotic measures.

The Chief Minister handed over the trophies to the SPs of Bhadrak and Angul for their excellent work for implementation of CCTNS programme in their respective districts.

The SPs of Cuttack and Kalahandi districts received the trophies for the work done by them in providing services to the people through the Odisha Police Citizes Portal while the SPs of Kandhamal and Boudh received trophies for their efforts in the largescale destruction of cannabis plant in their respective districts during 2017-18.
