Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday urged the traders’ bodies to strictly adhere to the COVID Unlock-3 guidelines issued by the Odisha government.
Briefing the media after a meeting with the traders’ bodies, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said that the new guidelines will be strictly implemented in all market areas in the city.
He said the traders were asked to strictly follow the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the new guidelines failing which appropriate action will be taken.
On the steps taken by the BMC to contain the spread of the COVID-19 in the city’s slum areas, Chaudhary said that the COVID Sachetaks have been included in the campaign to make the people aware of the virus. Besides, efforts in this regard are being made through the slum development committees (Basti Unnayan Committee), he added.
