Student Arrested For Not Paying For Online Mobile Phone Purchase In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Police arrested a student for cheating an online service provider in the city on Sunday.

According to sources, the student, identified as Sushil Das of Mahabirnagar in the city, had booked to purchase a mobile phone worth Rs 35,000 online. On receipt of the parcel, he assured the delivery boy to pay the amount through online banking.

The delivery boy handed over the parcel to Sushil trusting his assurance. Several hours after, when the payment did not come through, the delivery boy lodged a complaint at the Lingaraj police station.

Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and launched a manhunt for Sushil. In the evening, they traced Sushil and arrested him. The police also recovered the mobile from his possession.
