Student Drowns, Another Goes Missing In Hadagarh Dam In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: A college student drowned and another went missing after being swept away in Salandi river at Hadagarh dam in Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Wednesday.

The incident took place when the two youths were taking a bath in the reservoir at the dam on Salandi river under the jurisdiction of Soso police station in the district, sources said.

The two, aged around 19 years, had been to the dam along with three others for a bath. They were from Tihidi and Brapada areas of Bhadrak district. While taking bath, two of them were swept away by strong river current.

After a search and rescue operation, one of them was traced and pulled out of the river. However, he was found dead, while the other youth is still missing and efforts are on to trace him.
