Rourkela: Student of a private ITI college died allegedly after falling from the hostel building at Jagada area under Jhirpani police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district late on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Atulyan Jojo (22) of Bansjor in Jharkhand. He was a first-year student of ITI Fitter Trade.
According to sources, Atulyan was staying in the hostel above the ITI. He went missing last evening. When he did not turn up for dinner, other students informed the hostel superintendent. He was later found lying dead on the roof of a building adjacent to the hostel.
On being informed, police arrived at the hostel and seized the body. His mobile phone and ear phones were also found at the spot
It is being suspected he fell off the roof accidentally while talking on his mobile phone.
Police have started an investigation on the basis of the statements of other hostel inmates.
