Rayagada: A young girl from a remote pocket of backward Rayagada district has made Odisha proud for being selected as the only Indian student to pursue her research in prestigious Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich, Germany.
Preeti Prava Sahu, a student of National Institute of Science Education and Research at Jatni, had applied for pursuing her PhD in Microbiology in the university. She was one of 14 students from across the world who were shortlisted by the university for the final interview, according to sources.
Preeti Prava was also the only Indian to have been selected for the interview. She became the first ever girl from India to study in the university after she was selected by the panelists in the interview.
She will pursue research on how to stop use of the nitrogenous fertilizer to prevent pollution and at the same time increase the productivity of the plants.
