Two Students Meet Watery Grave In Kuakhai

Bhubaneswar: Two students drowned while taking bath in Kuakhai river on Wednesday.

Following an hour-long operation, ODRAF and fire officials rescued one of the two boys, who was immediately rushed to Capital Hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead.

Later, the body of the other missing student was fished out from the water body.

 

The deceased, identified as Jagamohan Sahu and Sofik Digal, were Class IX students of Unit-9 Boys’ High School.

According to available information, six students of the school had gone to take bath in the water body. However, two of them drowned in the deep waters.

 

The students had left home for school wearing school uniforms but went to take bath midway.

During the search operation, the joint team also rescued a woman, who was also crying for help in the river. Sources said the rescued woman was in severe mental stress due to her suspension from the service four years ago.
