Rourkela: A student was found hanging in a hostel room under mysterious circumstances in Rourkela of Odisha’s Sundargarh district on Monday.
As per reports, the minor boy, identified as Krishna Kujur of Sola village under Gurundia block in the district, was studying in Class VII of a private hostel in the city. He was staying in Anwesha hostel in Chhend area of the city.
Krishna had not gone to the school on the day. Some of his hostel mates found him hanging from ceiling fan in his room when they returned from school in the afternoon and informed the hostel authorities.
On being informed, a team from Chhend police station went to the hostel and sent the body for post-mortem. They also informed his family and started investigation.
Though the cause of the student’s suicide has not been ascertained, it is suspected that he was under mental pressure for some reasons.
