Berhampur: Classes have been suspended by Kandhamal district administration at a government-run high school since Tuesday and announced the girls’ hostel a micro-containment zone till August 16.
The development came after a class X student tested COVID positive in the hostel that houses 64 students.
“We suspended the classes to sanitise the building before the entrance examination of the Navodaya Vidyalaya on Wednesday,” District Welfare Officer Simanchal Behera said.
“We could not change the centre as the case came to the fore on Tuesday afternoon,” he added.
The infected girl is in isolation and is reported to be stable.
