Sambalpur: Swab samples of 21 students who have tested positive for COVID-19 at the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla would be sent to Bhubaneswar for genome sequencing to find out why they tested positive even after receiving double vaccine doses.
So far, 56 MBBS students at the institute have tested COVID positive. Five tested positive yesterday, 16 on Wednesday and more than 30 on Tuesday.
The students showed symptoms of COVID after the annual function UTKARASH-2021 on November 13-14.
