Students’ council election in Ravenshaw on August 22, 23

Cuttack: The authorities of Ravenshaw University here on Thursday announced that the students’ council election will be conducted on August 22 and 23.
While the students’ representatives will be elected from nine schools of the varsity on August 22, the election for convener and deputy convener of different societies will be held on August 23.
The interested candidates will be allowed to file their nominations only 10 minutes prior to the election following which their names will be written on a blackboard. Students will then write the name of the contestant they want to elect. Only white ballot paper will be used during the election, varsity sources said.
After completion of the polling process, the votes will be counted in the next half an hour and results for each school declared after 60 to 90 minutes. The winners will take the oath on the same day and later a students’ council will be set up, the sources added.
