New Delhi: Seventeen students of Odisha attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2.0’, held at Talkatora Stadium on Tuesday.
The PM interacted with 2,000 high school and college students, along with their parents and teachers. The Prime Minister discussed examination related issues with the students, teachers and parents.
Last year, only students of Delhi-NCR participated in the event, but this year, students from all over India as well as NRI students studying in Russia, Nigeria, Iran, Nepal, Doha, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Singapore participated.
With less than two months to go for the Class X and XII examination, PM Modi discussed ways to handle exam stress with students in the interactive session. “Our learning cannot be reduced to exams only. Our education must equip us to face various challenges of life as well,” the Prime Minister said.
He also encouraged parents to motivate their children. “Only when you take it in spirit and encourage your child, does a 60 per cent holder move towards 70 or 80 per cent. If you only criticize and scold your child for not getting 90 per cent, you will demotivate your child to start believing that they are incapable. This will take their grades further down towards 40 per cent,” said the PM.
Besides, he stressed on the need to lay emphasis on time management, quality and technology. “Technology should lead to expansion of the mind and as a means to innovate,” said the Prime Minister.
He also said, “I request parents, do not expect your children to fulfill your unfulfilled dreams. Every child has his or her own potential and strengths. It is important to understand these positives of every child.
