Puri: Several students of a high school in Kanas area of Odisha’s Puri district were allegedly made to wash utensils after a grand feast during a science exhibition.
The shocking incident was reported to have taken place at Durgadevi High School on Tuesday night after the feast. A purported video of the incident has gone viral on social media platforms.
As per information, a district-level science exhibition was held on the school premises on Tuesday in which students from 11 blocks in Puri showcased their talent through various science projects.
The exhibition was attended by Science and Technology Minister Ashok Panda, District Education Officer (DEO) and the Block Education Officer (BEO).
After the exhibition, the feast was organised at the school for over 500 people.
However, after the guests left, the teachers of the school allegedly made more than 10 students of Class IX and X stay back till 11 pm and asked them to wash the dishes on the banks of nearby Daya river.
The headmaster of the school has reportedly apologised for the incident and said it happened without his knowledge.
