Mayurbhanj: Seventeen students of Kendua Nodal High School under Shyamakhunta block of Mayurbhanj district walked around 15km on Thursday to meet the Mayurbhanj district collector and complain of torture by their headmistress and other problems they faced. Some girl students too had joined the protest.
Sources said the students alleged that the school headmistress tortured them physically and mentally. They also complained of irregularity in midday meal at school among other problems.
The students threatened not to attend class unless their complaint was taken up for consideration. District officials could not be contacted for comment.
