New Delhi: Police investigations revealed that students were responsible for hoax bomb threats to at least three Delhi schools over the past few days, reports claimed. According to the police, the students allegedly staged the threats in an attempt to get a holiday.
One of the schools that had received the threat email was Venkateshwar Global School, the day after a mysterious blast at the Rohini Prashant Vihar PVR Multiplex on November 28. The email was sent by two siblings enrolled at the school, police said. These students wanted the exams to be deferred.
During counselling, the students admitted that they had got the idea from previous bomb threat incidents at various schools. These students were allowed to go after their parents were warned by the police.
Earlier, police had conducted a thorough search of the school after the hoax threat messages were received. Two other schools in Rohini and Paschim Vihar had received similar bomb threat emails from their students. The motive was same.
Over the past two weeks, bomb threats caused chaos at over 100 schools in Delhi.
