Puri: On the eve of New Year, the Student Traffic Volunteer Scholarship scheme (STVS) has been launched in Puri, informed, Central Range IG Soumendra Priyadarshi on Monday. Notably, The Odisha government has recently expanded the scheme to other main cities. The State government has permitted to appoint 60 volunteers for Puri. In the first phase, 34 college students have been appointed as Student Traffic Volunteers, informed Priyadarshi. The main aim behind this step is to engage the college students and increase traffic awareness among them and in the society, he added. The student, who will give three hours to this service will be given Rs 100 as scholarship.
