Bhubaneswar: With Southwest Monsoon providing subdued rain in the past couple of days, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday forecast a rise in the day temperature by 3 to 4 °C in Odisha during the next 3 days.
Discomfort weather is likely in the coastal districts due to high surface humidity, it added.
While the state is likely to experience light to moderate rain till August 3, yellow alert for thunderstorm has been sounded for several districts till 8.30 am on August 2.
Rain in likely at a few places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and at one or two places in rest of Odisha during the next 24 hours. Thunderstorm with lightning is also at one or two places in Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Boudh, Angul, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj during this period, the MeT office said.
