Bhubaneswar: A delegation of FICCI Forum of Parliamentarians is on a three-day visit to Tokyo as part of an initiative undertaken by the apex business chamber to enhance ties between India and Japan.
“The India-Japan bilateral relationship is amongst the most important and has grown deeper on account of shared values and strategic interests which are closely aligned. There are multiple engagements both at multilateral and bilateral level which have added strength, and FICCI will work to bring together various stakeholders — especially businesses on both sides — to realise the full potential,” said FICCI president IMFA managing director Subhrakant Panda.
The delegation, led by MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, also has a cross-section of Members of Parliament from various political parties. The delegation has had several important meetings, including with former Japanese PM Yoshihide Suga, Minister for Economy, Trade & Investment Yasutoshi Nishimura, ‘Ganesha Group’ of Japanese MPs with an interest in India, and Ambassador of India Sibi George.
