New Delhi: Rajya Sabha member Subramanian Swamy on Thursday yet again raised questions related to the Sunanda Pushkar death case. Earlier on September 9, Swamy had raised questions over the role of Delhi Police in the death investigation Congress MP Shashi Tharoor’s wife.
The politician has raised fingers against the Delhi Police for failing to file the medical autopsy report in the court. He wrote on Twitter, “The Session Court had left an option for me to re-enter the Sunanda case. After seeing the completely conclusive medical autopsy conducted under the leadership of Dr. Sudhir Gupta confirming that Sunanda was murdered, the Delhi Police has failed to file the Report in Court.”
The tweet has already got 1.8K retweets and 9.5K likes.
On Wednesday, the BJP leader had questioned Delhi Police’s role in the death probe. From the beginning, Swamy has maintained that there was foul play in Sunanda Pushkar’s death. He had also moved the Delhi High Court seeking a court-monitored probe into the case. However, his Public Interest Litigation was rejected.
Late Sunanda Pushkar, businesswoman, and wife of Shashi Tharoor was found dead in her suite in Delhi’s Leela Hotel on January 17, 2014. however, the injury marks on her body and traces of anti-anxiety drug Alprazolam in her stomach had raised suspicion over the cause of her death.
The case got a new twist when Dr. Sudhir Gupta who did the autopsy, claimed he was pressurised to manipulate the autopsy report.
In 2016, the then Delhi Police Commissioner, BS Bassi stated that Pushkar did not die of natural causes. The Delhi Police filed a 3000-page charge sheet later on May 15, 2018.
