Subramanian Swamy Wants Dhoni To Pad Up For ‘Another Innings’ In 2024

New Delhi: Reacting to Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision to retire from international cricket, senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Dr Subramanian Swamy on Sunday said that the two-time World Cup winning skipper should contest the General Elections in 2024.

Taking to Twitter, Swamy wrote that the inspiring leadership that he demostrated in cricket was needed in public life.

On Saturday, Dhoni posted a typically cryptic message on Instagram. “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout. from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired (sic),”

His decision to retire from limited-overs cricket brought to an end an almost 16-year golden run. Dhoni had quit Test cricket in 2014.
