Bhubaneswar: Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik on Sunday created a sand art of US President-elect Donald J Trump on Puri sea beach in Odisha, ahead of his swearing-in ceremony as the 47th President of the United States of America.
“We have created a 47-foot-long sand art installation of Donald Trump, welcoming him to the White House, since he will be taking oath as the 47th President. I am a big fan of the President-elect…. We hope that India-US relationship will strengthen under his presidency,” he told ANI.
Trump will head back to the White House on Monday with swearing-in ceremony inside the US Capitol instead of outdoors due to the forecast for ‘dangerous’ cold conditions in the capital city Washington DC. It will feature other traditional events such as inaugural address, and parade, traveling down Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House, a signing ceremony and an inaugural luncheon, often showcasing cuisine from the home states of the president and vice president.
The day will end in grand style at a series of inaugural balls across Washington DC, SKY News reported.
According to Reuters, an estimated 500,000 guests, including seven sitting heads of state and two former leaders, are expected to attend the ceremony.
Argentina’s President Javier Milei, Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa and Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawieck have confirmed their attendance. Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is likely to attend if her schedule permits. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng will attend the event while External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will represent India at the ceremony, reports said.
After assuming office, Trump is reportedly planning to issue more than 100 executive orders, related to immigration, birthright citizenship and tariffs, with approximately 25 of those are expected on his first day alone, according to Reuters.
