Bulandshahr: In the death probe of 19-year-old Sudeeksha Bhati, who had returned to India from the US in July, the Bulandshahr police found no evidence of eve-teasing or harassment.
According to media reports, the police said that facts have been twisted to claim linked insurance money as Sudeeksha got Rs 3.8 crore scholarship to study in the US.
“The matter has been given a twist by people. The woman was on a huge scholarship and people thought of insurance. The boy who was riding the bike has just passed the high school, he is probably a minor,” said Santosh Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bulandshahr, was quoted as saying by NDTV.
While her family claimed that it was eve-teasing which led to Sudeeksha’s death, the police have now confirmed, the death was an accident.
Sudeeksha died on Monday, August 10, in a bike accident while going to her relative’s place.
