Suicide Bid: Locals Rescue Woman From Kuakhai River

Bhubaneswar: A woman, who had allegedly jumped into the Kuakhai river on the outskirt of Odisha capital on Saturday, was rescued by locals.

The identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained.

According to the sources, the woman jumped into the river from the Kuakhai bridge in an alleged attempt to commit suicide.

She was then rescued by locals in a critical condition.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and sent her to hospital.

The reason of attempting suicide is yet to be ascertained.

In a similar incident on July this year, a woman had allegedly jumped into Kuakhai river near Hanspal on the city outskirts and was rescued by fire services officials near Tankapani Road.

After being rescued, she was rushed to the Capital Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the woman came in a vehicle, parked it on the bridge and suddenly jumped into deep waters.
