Bhubaneswar: An awareness programme for patients and staff was organised at the SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) in Bhubaneswar on Friday ahead of the World Heart Day on September 29.
Brig (Dr) Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services, chaired the programme which was addressed by Dr PK Panda, Medical Superintendent and Dr Sarat Kumar Sahoo, Dr Banabihari Mishra, Dr Bibhutendra Mohanty and Dr Sunil Mishra of the Cardiac Sciences department.
Brig Mishra appreciated the work being done by the department while Dr Sahoo spoke on seven areas including diet,
exercise, good sleep, keeping comorbidities under control and regular medical check-up for taking care of one’s heart.
Dr Banabihari Mishra outlined the efficient management of cardiac emergencies. Dr Mohanty spoke about the impact of tobacco which was causing cardiac ailments.
