Bhubaneswar: All educational institutions under the jurisdiction of Higher Education Department in Odisha will go for summer vacation from Wednesday (May 5), the state government announced on Tuesday.
The vacation will continue till May 31, the Principal Secretary (Higher Education), Saswat Mishra, wrote to all university vice-chancellors and principals of government and private degree colleges.
Mishra also asked them to suspend online classes and online examinations during the vacation period.
However, the pre-scheduled viva-voce/interview of PhD and other research scholars, falling within the summer vacation period, should be held on the scheduled dates, the order stated.
