Bhubaneswar: Newly-set up healthcare facility SUM Ultimate Medicare (SUMUM) successfully treated a 66-year old man, down with pneumonia and septicemia, after he was denied treatment at a prominent hospital here.
According to reports, Hemanta Kumar Mohapatra had a previous history of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and diabetes and his condition was quite critical when he was admitted at SUMUM.
Headed by Dr. Banambar Ray, the Critical Care team at the hospital first counselled the family members about the patient’s condition and then assured them that they will try their best to treat him.
The multidisciplinary critical care team comprising Dr. Anand Mishra, Dr. Abhijeet Raha and Dr. Arun Kumar Sahu initiated the clinical procedure with the support of senior clinical nutritionist Sushri Sangita Jena and physiotherapist Dr Priyabrata Swain who worked on physical therapy and rehabilitation of the patient.
After undergoing treatment for a month, the patient, who had very vague chances of recuperating, turned hale and hearty and returned home.
