“The Constitution as originally drafted refers to Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes. Sorry, we are not inclined. Dismissed,” Chief Justice Chandrachud said.
Refusing to entertain the petition, CJI said: “There are provisions in the constitution specifically referring to caste, to socially and educationally backward classes. The Constitution as originally drafted refers to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes”
The bench dismissed the petition finding lack of any merit.
“This is not a case for our interference, dismissed”.
