Bhubaneswar: After two years, the Supreme Court will start full physical hearing of the cases from April 4.
Chief Justice of the apex court NV Ramana on Wednesday announced the Supreme Court will commence physical hearing of cases from April 4. He made the announcement before beginning of proceedings in the court on the day.
“On Monday and Friday, we will provide links (for virtual hearing) if advocates want,” a news agency quoted Ramana as saying.
At present, the Supreme Court has complete virtual hearings on miscellaneous days (Monday and Friday). On other days, the hearings are in physical form, with the virtual option available to advocates.
The apex court of the country had switched to complete virtual mode with the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. The court had started physical hearings partially in October last year.
As per the SOP issued on October 7, 2021, the Supreme Court had decided that all the matters listed on Wednesday and Thursday (non-miscellaneous days) would be heard in physical presence of the counsels/parties in court rooms.
