New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has increased the fine for not wearing masks to ₹ 2,000 from the current ₹ 500 amid the continuing surge in COVID-19 cases in the capital.
Kejriwal also appealed to all political and social organisations to distribute masks at public places.
A dip in temperature and an increase in air pollution levels are believed to be among the few reasons behind the 3rd wave of COVID-19. The total active cases have reached 43,221.
Kejriwal appealed to people with folded hands to wear masks and maintain safety norms.
Over 1,400 ICU beds are being arranged, he added.
