Phulbani: Jyoti Madkami has embarked on a new journey. Once an active member of CPI (Maoist), she entered the wedlock on Friday.
The wedding was organised at Radha Krishna temple in Phulbani and Kadhamal police had made all security arrangements for it. She tied the knot with Rahul Mallick of Bataguda village.
SP (Kandhamal) Prateek Singh and other police officer were present on the occasion and blessed the newly-wed couple.
Jyoti Madkami belongs to Bijapur of Chhatisgarh. She was with the banned outfit for 14 years and she surrendered before Boudh police on October 9, 2015, with the intention to join the mainstream.
Jyoti had been living under police protection since then because of threat to her life.
“In 2015, she gave up arms. She was provided financial assistance at that time. We are planning provide her some employment opportunity. She has struggled a lot in life and deserve all happiness in future,” Singh said.
