Bhubaneswar: The induction team of the Indian Air Force (IAF)’s Suryakiran aerobatic team will arrive in Bhubaneswar on an AN-32 aircraft on Tuesday. The IAF’s aerobatic team, which flies the Hawk aircraft, will perform over Kuakhai river in Bhubaneswar on September 16 and over Raj Bhawan in Puri on September 18.
Equipment and 11 Hawk aircraft will arrive in Bhubaneswar on September 8 and 9, Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) Director Prasanna Pradhan said. While nine Hawks will take part in the airshow, two will be on standby.
The Suryakiran aerobatic team recently shared its display calendar for the season 2022-23 on Twitter.
The IAF had held an airshow over Kathjodi riverbed in Cuttack in 2016 to commemorate the birth centenary of former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, who was also a pilot.
The Suryakiran and Sarang aerobatic teams along with Akash Ganga’s skydivers participated in the airshow. Thousands of people, including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, witnessed the show.
