New Delhi: A Delhi court on Saturday extended double Olympic-medallist Sushil Kumar’s police remand for four days in connection with the murder of 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Rana.
Metropolitan Magistrate Mayank Goel, who passed the order, observed that no one is above the law, reported The Indian Express.

“No one is above law and law treats everyone equally. Though constitution guarantees the right to life and liberty to all persons whether they are accused or not but that right is also subject to certain exceptions. Moreover, the importance of initial days of investigation to unearth the truth also has to be seen. The court is duty bound to strike a balance between the fairness of investigation and the rights of the accused,” stated the order.
Delhi Police arrested Sushil on May 23 and sent to 6-day police custody after the the champion wrestler had been on the run for over a fortnight.
