‘Sushruta: The Health Conclave’ To Be Held On June 30

Bhubaneswar: Leading digital news platforms Odisha Bytes and Odisha Sambad are for the first time organizing ‘Sushruta: The Health Conclave’ on June 30, 2022 (Thursday) at Mayfair Convention in Bhubaneswar.

Odisha’s Minister for Health and Family Welfare Nabakishore Das will grace the inaugural session as Chief Guest while Minister for Rural Development, Skill Development and Technical Education Pritiranjan Ghadai will be Chief Guest of the valedictory session. Chairman of Ashwini Group of Hospitals and eminent orthopaedic & plastic surgeon Dr Subrat Jena and Chief Executive Officer of SUM Ultimate Medicare Dr Swetapadma Dash will be Guests of Honour of the inaugural ceremony. Similarly, Vice President and Unit Head of AMRI Hospitals, Bhubaneswar, Nilanjana Mukherjee will be Guest of Honour of the closing ceremony. Other eminent personalities from the field of healthcare will take part in different sessions in this one-of-its-kind conclave.

Two highly relevant panel discussions on ‘Epidemics are here to stay: the way ahead’ and ‘Cancer is beatable: The Dostarlimab hope’ will enrich the audience about two of the most discussed diseases, COVID and cancer, in recent times. Well-known internal medicine specialist Dr Niroj Kumar Mishra; technical spokesperson of Odisha’s health and family welfare department and head of department of medicine, SCB Medical College, Dr Jayanta Kumar Panda; and, head of department of clinical immunology and rheumatology, SUM Hospital Dr Pradipta Patra will take part in the first panel discussion. Senior journalist Sandeep Sahu will moderate it.

In the second panel discussion, renowned oncologist Dr Krupasindhu Panda, head of department of surgical oncology, AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, Dr Madhabananda Kar, and head of department of medical oncology, SUM Hospital, Dr Soumya Surath Panda will participate; it will be moderated by anchor-journalist Balabhadra Rath.

Noted storyteller Prachitara will add a different flavour to the event by staging a performance on mental health.
