Jaleswar: Vigilance sleuths raided the properties of Jaleswar’s suspended IIC Dhaneshwara Sahoo in Balasore district on Tuesday. Sahoo is accused of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
Acting on the strength of search warrant issued by Special Judge Vigilance Balasore, the anti-corruption wing conducted simultaneous raids at seven places including the Flat no. 301, Kailash Vihar, Sailashree Vihar in Bhubaneswar, native place at Badabhuin of Narsinghpur, relative’s house at Bandhahuda of Narsinghpur, government quarter at Jaleswar, house of associate at Dukha Sukhia at Jaleswar, hotel Adish at Imam Nagar under Cuttack and house of associate at Nankar under Nimpur at Cuttack.
IIC Sahoo was suspended on August 15 for gross misconduct.
The exact amount of disproportionate assets possessed by the accused officer will be ascertained only after the completion of search drives, sources in the Vigilance department said.
