New Delhi: Cricketer-turned-BJP MP Gautam Gambhir’s father recently reported theft of his SUV from their house in Central Delhi’s Rajendra Nagar.
According to police, Deepak Gambhir’s Toyota Fortuner was parked outside his residence on Wednesday. It was found missing the following morning.
A case has been registered with Rajendra Nagar police station on the basis of a complaint lodged by Gambhir’s father.
DCP (Central) Sanjay Bhatia said, “We received information that a Fortuner car was stolen from MP Gautam Gambhir’s house. We reached his house and met his father Deepak Gambhir. He informed us that he owned a Toyota Fortuner which was white in colour. On Wednesday, at around 3.30 pm, he said the car was parked in front of the house but on Thursday morning, they found that it was stolen.”
Several teams of the central district special staff and the Crime Branch have been formed to nab the thief.
“A forensics team was also called in to lift the fingerprints and footprints from the spot,” said an officer.
