Bhubaneswar: The vehicle carrying two Class X students, who were rescued in Balangir after they went missing, overturned in Daspalla area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district while returning to Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
The two students who went missing in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday were traced by police Titlagarh in Balangir district on Wednesday. A team of Chandaka police and some of the family members of the students had left for Titilagarh to bring them back to the city.
It was alleged that eight masked miscreants kidnapped the two minor boys after making them unconscious while they were on their way to school. They, however, managed to escape from the clutches of the abductors and telephoned their family members. The police rescued the duo and made arrangements to bring them back to their home in Bhubaneswar.
They were returning in a SUV when the vehicle turned turtle on Banigocha road in Daspalla area on Thursday. Locals rushed them to Banigocha hospital where the condition of the boys was stated to be stable.
The two students of a private school in Sundarpur area under Chandaka police limits were found missing around 10 am on Tuesday. The school authorities told the parents that they did not attend school. The families lodged a complaint with police late night after failing to trace them.
