Koraput: The police seized more than 700 kg of ganja and several vehicles for allegedly being used in ganja smuggling and arrested three persons in this connection in the district on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Jeypore police raided a place near Ambaguda village and seized the vehicles including an SUV having logo of the Indian Army.
During the search of the seized vehicles including a Volvo truck, an Innova SUV, and four motorcycles, in the presence of the Executive Magistrate, 728.6 kg of ganja worth around Rs 50 lakh was recovered from the vehicles.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rahul Pratap Singh (37) of Uttar Pradesh, Sunder Singh (55) of Uttar Pradesh, and Prafulla Khemundu (24) of Koraput.
