Cuttack: In order to facilitate the patients with disabilities to get bed facilities at SVNIRTAR in Odisha’s Cuttack district, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate a Rehabilitation Annex Building on Friday.
The four-storey building with a total floor area of 3284 sqm is fully air-conditioned having bed lift and ramp facilities. It has a capacity of total 100 beds including 30 cabin beds and 70 dormitory beds for male and female patients with disabilities. It also has overhead water tanks, peripheral road for fire vehicle movement, fire alarm and fire fighting systems.
The extension of the Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research (SVNIRTAR) with the Rehabilitation Annex Building aims at helping the persons with disabilities struggling to get an indoor bed.
The number of deformity corrective surgery is expected to increase as more cases can get a chance for admission. The number and quality of therapeutic services would also improve.
Pradhan would be accompanied by Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar and MP JP Nadda. He will also unveil the statute of Swami Vivekanand and a therapeutic park on the occasion.
